Biography | Dr. Siew has 32 years of experience in the fields of pathology, medical services, education and research. She is a Professor of Human Pathology at Michigan State University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Siew specializes in clinical pathology and has provided extensive medical services and research in her field. She has received 59 teaching awards and received a “Distinguished Faculty Award” from the Michigan State College of Human Medicine in 1988 which is awarded to a faculty member who has demonstrated dedication to excellence in teaching integrated clinical science in systems courses. Most recently, Dr. Siew was acknowledged by the Class of 2002 students from the College of Osteopathic Medicine with a plaque and portrait placed outside the histology lab at E202 East Fee Hall for “her commitment and dedication in teaching the Michigan State University student body in the fields of cardiology and pathology for over 20 years." She was also a panel member regarding “Characteristics of Today’s Students that Drive Us Crazy” at Michigan State University. Dr. Siew has written 90 articles including “Optimal Diets to Prevent Heart Disease” published in the Journal of The American Medical Association in 2003. She has also written three book chapters. Dr. Siew received both an M.D. and Ph.D. from Witwatersrand University in South Africa, in 1963. She is a Fellow with The American College of Cardiology and a member of The American Medical Association. Dr. Siew currently resides in Michigan. |
