Biography | Upon completion of her PhD Nicola began her long and successful association with the University of Bristol, first within the Department of Physiology and then the Bristol Heart Institute. During this time, she was awarded prestigious fellowships from The British Heart Foundation which she used to characterize acidic amino acid transport in heart and to reveal the potential of acidic amino acids as myocardial anti-oxidants. Just prior to joining UNE, Nicola held a lecturing position at the Universiti Brunei Darussalam where she was involved in medical education and the development of a new degree program. |
