| Biography | I was born in Chicago, Illinois. Before retiring to the mountains of Tennessee, I worked as a Federal Employee at the O'Hare Air Force Base for 33 years. While there, I worked in the Civilian Personnel Office first as a Clerk-Typist in 1964. As time went by, I eventually worked my way up to the position of Personnel Management Specialist before retiring in 1997. During my employment at O'Hare, I was responsible for maintaining the data records for all the civilian employees on base. It was here that I met my husband Bill and in 1997 we both took early retirements, due to base closure, and began our new life in Tennessee. Since moving to Tennessee, I have been enjoying the beauty of our surroundings for the past few years. I have always enjoyed the magnificence of flowers and loved giving them as gifts to my friends and family. For more than 15 years I have been an independent artist making my own floral designs and am recognized for the beauty of my work by my friends and acquaintances. On many occasions I have dazzled my friends with my own unique floral designs that I have made for them. After so many years of making my own floral arrangements, I decided to share my designs and ideas with other interested flower lovers. So that is when I decided to create my own e-book "Flower Arrangements Made Simple" and began selling it on my own website www.artisticflowerarrangements.com. This in itself has been a unique experience for me. In addition, Bill and I have also opened our own online business selling sports equipment and items for College, NBA, NFL and MLB fans on our other website www.bjsbargains.biz. Since retiring, I must admit I am much busier now than when I was working full time, but I am enjoying my work much more. |
