Career Accomplishments | Major contribution has been in the area of novel vaccine (both conventional and recombinant) research and development for the prevention of diseases in various animal species (e.g. dogs, cats, horses, cattle, sheep, pigs and poultry) as well as inventions which have led to various patents. A large number of animal vaccine worldwide registrations have been accomplished. Some of the notable ones include the first Borrelia burdorferi bacteria against Lyme disease in dogs, the first inactivated 5-way feline vaccines containing cell culture propagated feline Chlamydiae psittaci antigens and molecularly cloned feline leukemia viral antigens, the first modified-live bovine respiratory syncytial viral vaccine containing immunomodulators for single dose and subcutaneous administration and avirulent live Streptococcus equi vaccine for mucosal administration. More recent accomplishments include the development and approval of the first feline AIDS vaccine and the first equine West Nile vaccine for commercial uses |
