Career AccomplishmentsHe is the co-inventor of the Convectron heat-loss gauge in addition to the Stabil-Ion and the Micro-Ion hot cathode ionization gauges. A significant project he worked on was the electrostatic triode getter-ion Electro-Ion Pump. At the 1999 National Symposium of the American Vacuum Society (AVS), he delivered an invited talk of an overview of the Stabil-Ion Gauge for the 6 years since its introduction into the marketplace. He is listed on 5 patents on ionization gauges and has participated in recent years on AVS's Committee on Recommended Practices for Ionization Gauge Calibration
Work HistoryIn his 40 years of experience with the Granville-Phillips product center (Granville-Phillips Co. was purchased by Helix Technology Corp. in 1998), he previously served as Manager of Experimental Testing and was heavily involved in the development of the company's mechanical and electromechanical products, such as the all-metal UHV valves, capacitance diaphragm gauge, liquid nitrogen cold traps, and vacuum gauging, requiring UHV metal-sealing technology, metallurgy, and physical electronics
