Career AccomplishmentsMs. Rifkind was invited to come from London to handle a special project. This involved setting up translation services for a contract where Dresser Industries (US) was to supply turbines to the Soviets. Ms. Rifkind is responsible for overall company operations, major accounts, language classes, cross-cultural training, public relations, customer relations and international operations. She has provided interpretation services for President Putin of Russia, President Bush, President Nazarbayev of Kazakhstan, President Niyazov of Turkmenistan and President Jiang Zemin of China. Mr. Hugo Chavez, Mr. Victor Chernomyrdin, ( Former Prime Minister of Russia); Mr. Apas Dzhumagulov (Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan); President Heydar Aliev of Azerbaijanand Tartarstan and Kazakhstan, Mr. Andrey Konoplyanik; and an Azeri delegation which included Mr. Vahid Kazymamed Akhmedov, the First Deputy Prime Minister. Ms. Rifkind established the Soviet American Chamber of Commerce in Houston, which subsequently became the CIS American Chamber of Commerce. The goal was to create an environment for US and Soviet business people to come together to exchange ideas and foster connections among business people from both countries. It also created a place to network with others who were trying to accomplish similar goals.
